Meet Simon the happy bachelor who doesn’t feel the need to fall in love.
Simon, which answer best describes your current love situation? a.) Single and happy b). Single and lonely c.) Single and definitely not lonely or d.) In a committed relationship.
C. Single and most definitely not lonely. I didn’t even have to think about that one!
Would you say you’re a bona fide bachelor?
Yes I would. I’m too independent, too selfish and way too impatient to be in a relationship.
Would you say those are unattractive traits to have?
Not at all. I know what I am and that’s the way I like it. At least this way women know what they’re getting from the get go and they don’t expect anything from me.
Fair enough, so what do you do for work in Jakarta?
I’m country manager for a security/risk company.
Is that as exciting as it sounds?
Not really, but it affords me a very good lifestyle which is what matters.
What do you love most about being single?
The best thing about being single is that I can do what I want, when I want to do it. Why would I have it any other way? The idea of having your Mrs call you up while you’re in the pub with your mates telling you to come home and wash the dishes is not one I had in mind.
What’s the most fun a single guy can have in Jakarta on a Saturday night?
I’d say start with a massage, then have dinner at Loewy in Kuningan, then mayhem at Red Square and see where that takes you.
What type of a woman would it take to make you want to settle down?
A super hot, confident and sexy woman with a willing twin sister who would both be generously endowed in the chest department.
What’s your craziest memory from living in Jakarta?
Alexis Hotel – if you don’t know what I’m talking about, I’d say keep it that way and if you do know, well maybe you and I aren’t so different after all.
No comment. What’s the most outlandish thing you’ve ever done to impress a lady?
Actually I’ve never found the need to impress a lady in Jakarta – they’re always up for a good time.
Can you give me 3 adjectives that best describe Indonesian women?
Confident, sexy and crazy!

Obvious, this gentleman has never been in love to say he has no ingest in it. I’m offended that he has tried to singlehandedly stereotype women by suggesting that we all eventually (I assume) call you up and “disturb” you while you in a pub.
Their are many western women who are also confident, independent, and crazy. Many women wish for a guy that needs to hang with his own tribe in hopes that he will understand a girsl night out too.
I don’t think he as even let a strong independent woman come near him for fear he would have to change his low opinion of women. Yes, low. He seems to think that if you are a “party girl,” which you have discibed as your idea of a ideal woman, then you are a real woman.
I say, grow up. It’s time to find out what it’s like to be a man and not a teenager exploring his body.
oh really? =)
I’m sorry but what an arrogant arse this guy is and he isn’t even attractive (yes i am a male and i am hetrosexual but i can still determine an attractive man from one who isn’t!).
I have heard/met guys like him, here to party, to drink and to indulge, treating local girls like rubbish and discarding them as he goes. I am all up for a laugh, don’t get me wrong (i am only 36 myself) but this behaviour is cringe worthy to say the least. His attitude is horrible and i have never had a girl call me up and ask me to wash the dishes, i’m respectful enough to do it first time round or at least do my share.
He will wake up and realise one day, those bachelor days he so vehemently craved will leave him lonely as all of his friends will no doubt have moved on into relationships!
I remember reading this when the issue came out, and I also remember what I ate: tuna salad on toasted rye bed with boulder crisps cheddar and onion flavor…. Because I spewed it back out onto the article page. Simon L, I want to go on a date with you, I have the ability to barf-on-demand, so I would love to order that onion and mushroom sauce steak and mash in Loewy. Ta.
no comment, it just so funny to c his pic eh…
i met so many expat like him, first time he said no relationship n after that he call me 7 times a day ( u know i what i mean )
jajaja
Ah stubborn love. She’ll tear a hole in you, the one you can’t repair.
But I still love her, I don’t really care.
simon said is good for him as long as he knows wht goes around comes around especially in love stuff lol.gudluck simon
What a b**tard this guy Simon is…..typical full of arrogance
To any girls in jakarta, ignore this man if you see him somewhere around..this guy does not deserve any attention.
he even has a weird hairstyle and eyes like a fly.
